I had a business conference in Washington DC the week before Thanksgiving. Since Maisie lives only five hours away, I convinced her to drive over and stay with me in the hotel. The first night we found Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. Myla thought it was a pretty cool place. She walked around and checked everything out. But the big mouse guy had to keep his distance.
While I was at meetings, Maisie and Myla went shopping at the mall. They visited Santa and that resulted in the best Christmas card ever! Myla sat on Santa's lap and bawled her head off. The second day we went to the zoo. It wasn't that terrific, but Myla enjoyed it.
After meetings on the last day we walked around the mall and saw most of the monuments: The White House, Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, Washington National Monument, World War II Memorial, and most impressive, Arlington National Cemetary. We then took a tour trolley through downtown DC and Georgetown. We didn't get to spend too much time in Georgetown, but it was a neat place. I'd love to go back and spend a few more days.
We went to the Cupcake Factory - the one from the TV show I guess. Can you believe the line? No cupcake can possibly taste that good. No...we did NOT stand in line.
My favorite time of the entire trip though was playing with Myla in the hotel room. She is at the age now that she is so funny....and very easy to entertain. This is my new favorite video. Every time I watch it, it cracks me up all over again. She is such a goof ball.
