Grammie goes to North Carolina

Just got back from 10 days with Maisie and Myla. It was a great 10 days! Best vacay I've had in a long while. I left my laptop at home so I wouldn't get distracted with work (okay, okay...I did have my Blackberry so that I could check emails, but that's it).
Although she may not have remembered me, it didn't take Myla any time at all to warm up. I got a grin out of her when she picked me up at the airport. Right away, my favorite moment of the day was when she first woke up - she likes to snuggle til she's fully awake.

Over the course of the week we went to the N.C. Zoo in Asheboro and spent countless hours playing with bubbles and outside on the slip n slide and in the pool. The girls likes the water...mostly the garden hose used to add water to said slide and pool..crazy kid!
She's such a smart little PeeWee. My favorites were her "Oh no!" exclamation over the funniest things. I heard it regularly and she has such a sweet little chime to her voice. I also loved how quickly she caught on to the "Ready, Set, Go!". After only a few times, I'd provide the "Ready, Set" and then paused. Every single time she'd add the "Go". It was so cute.

Grammie taught her how to play hand clapping games. She loved Say, Say Oh Playmate the best. I also inadvertently taught her how to say Grandpa (even before Grammie). We had a little Grandpa figure from her doll house that I'd grabbed for a bathtime toy. Every night when I'd give her a bath (my ritual for Grammie & me time ) I'd put the Grandpa up on the ledge and then flick him into the water and playfully say, "Oh no, Grandpa". She'd always just laugh at me but nothing else. On the last night, she put the Grandpa up on the ledge, so I flicked him off into the water. Before I could say anything, Myla says "Oh no, Umpa".

Well, after 10 days I'd played my heart out, watched more Nick Jr than I would care to admit and had as much fun as she did. And I took over 400 photos! I'm already planning the next visit - can't wait! Being a Grammie is the best!!!!!
